Ranchi (Jharkhand) [India], June 23 (ANI): Union Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Sunday planted saplings in Jharkhand’s Ranchi under the campaign ‘Ek Ped Maa ke Naam’.
Earlier on the occasion of World Environment Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a tree plantation campaign by planting a sapling at the Buddha Jayanti Park.
Taking to ‘X’, Chouhan wrote, “Planted a tree in the name of my late mother in Ranchi today under the #Ek Ped Ma ke Naam campaign started by the Honorable Prime Minister Shri @narendramodiji on the occasion of World Environment Day.”

The union minister further requested people to join the plantation campaign.

“Today, my heart is filled with many emotions. Mother and nature both are the basis of our lives. The shade of their love always gives us coolness. I request everyone to definitely join this campaign of serving nature”, he added.
The Union Minister arrived in Ranchi, earlier today. He is also the Jharkhand Assembly election in-charge of the BJP.
Chouhan, along with his election co-incharge and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, held a meeting to discuss the strategy for the upcoming Assembly elections.
Earlier on Saturday, Shivraj Singh Chouhan planted a tree at the Indian Agricultural Research Institute Campus in Delhi.
Chouhan emphasized that trees are the protectors of our lives.
“As part of the pledge to plant a tree every day, today a tree was planted at the Indian Agricultural Research Institute, Pusa campus, New Delhi. Trees are the life of nature and they are also the protectors of our lives. You are requested to contribute to making the earth green and prosperous by planting trees on special occasions”, he said in a post on ‘X’. (ANI)
