Jeddah [Saudi Arabia], April 22 (ANI): Members of the Indian diaspora gathered at a hotel in Jeddah and sang ‘Saare Jahan Se Achha’ as they waited for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s arrival.

Many said they were happy and proud to welcome him during his two-day visit to Saudi Arabia on April 22-23. People thanked the Saudi leadership for inviting PM Modi.
One of the members of the Indian diaspora told ANI, “I am very excited to see PM Modi here. We are so grateful that we got this opportunity.”

Another member said, “We are so excited to be here. We thank the Crown Prince for inviting PM Modi here. Seeing all the vibrant colours here, the positive energy around us, we are all very excited…”

“We are proud to be an Indian in Saudi Arabia. We have come here to welcome PM Modi here. It feels as if a member of our family is visiting us,” another member of the indian diaspora told ANI.

Earlier, as a special gesture, PM Modi’s aircraft was escorted by F-15s of the Royal Saudi Air Force in Saudi Arabia’s airspace in Jeddah.
PM Narendra Modi is on a two-day State visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This is PM’s third visit to Saudi Arabia, and his first visit to Jeddah.
In a post on X, the Official Spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs said, “PM Narendra Modi has departed for a two-day State visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This is PM’s third visit to Saudi Arabia. PM Narendra Modi, along with Crown Prince & PM of Saudi Arabia, HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman, will co-chair the 2nd Leaders’ Meeting of the India-Saudi Arabia Strategic Partnership Council.”
PM Modi departed for Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on Tuesday. He is visiting Saudi Arabia at the invitation of the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman.
Since 2014, PM Modi has transformed the trajectory of India’s relations with Saudi Arabia and the Gulf countries. This will be PM Modi’s third visit to the country, following earlier visits in 2016 and 2019. This also marks his 15th visit to a country in the Gulf region. (ANI)
